EA E3 2016 press conference – When is it, what do we expect to see?

e3 2016
Electronic Arts is kicking off E3 2016 with a very impressive lineup at its disposal. Being tasked with setting the bar for the year's biggest gaming event is no small feat, but with the likes of Battlefield 1 and Mass Effect: Andromeda on show, EA is up to the task.
While we know a fair bit about its arsenal of games ahead of the show, the publisher could still have a few tricks up its sleeve, and TrustedReviews has a few of its own predictions too.
So here is everything you need to know about Electronic Arts at E3 2016.

EA E3 2016 PRESS CONFERENCE – WHEN IS IT?

Electronic Arts are doing things a bit differently this year, and will not be hosting a press conference at E3 itself. Instead, the publisher will be hosting a bespoke ‘EA Play’ event prior to the show.
This will take place at Club Nokia in Los Angeles from June 12-14. The event will kick off with a conference at 1PM PT/9PM BST on June 12.

EA E3 2016 PRESS CONFERENCE – WHERE CAN I WATCH IT?

It will all be streamed on EA Twitch's Channel which can be accessed on a number of devices, including your PS4 and Xbox One.

EA E3 2016 PRESS CONFERENCE – WHAT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED?

Battlefield 1 is arguably the biggest game in EA’s arsenal this year, taking the incredibly popular franchise back to the trenches of World War 1. The publisher plans to release a new trailer and showcase the game’s ambitious multiplayer. We can expect a comprehensive gameplay demonstration and news on a possible multiplayer beta later this year.
The worldwide reveal for Titanfall 2 is due during the briefing, too. This futuristic endeavour will build upon the first with new mechanics and visuals no longer confined by last generation hardware. It also lets you play as giant mechs with swords, Pacific Rim style, which is more than enough to get us hyped.
FIFA 17, the latest entry in the popular sports franchise was announced recently, so it’s likely to feature heavily at E3 this year. For the first time ever the game will run in Frostbite Engine, the same tech used to power games such as Battlefield 1 andMirror’s Edge Catalyst. Chances are EA will be eager to unveil some drastic new changes to the FIFA formula before it launches this September.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is another surefire attendee of this year’s event. Targeting a 2017 release date, EA will no doubt want to put on an impressive presentation that unveils the game’s world, characters and narrative. We know the new title will not feature Commander Shepard as the main protagonist, so we’d love to catch a glimpse of our new space hero.

EA E3 2016 PRESS CONFERENCE – WHAT MIGHT BE REVEALED

Visceral Games, the studio behind the Dead Space franchise and Battlefield Hardlineare currently working on a new Star Wars game, and this could very well make an appearance. The developer is rumoured to be working on Star Wars title with the help of Amy Hennig, the writer behind the Uncharted franchise.
Further downloadable content for Star Wars Battlefront is likely to be revealed, judging by the fact that three pieces of DLC are yet to be released for the game. Electronic Arts confirmed earlier this year that Battlefront 2 is due to release in 2017, so a brief teaser trailer isn’t out of the question.

EA E3 2016 PRESS CONFERENCE – WHAT WE’D LIKE TO SEE

The 2015 iteration of Need for Speed was a sterile disappointment for many, boasting an open-world that felt lifeless combined with cringey, forced and half-baked characters. This wasn’t first time Need for Speed has failed to deliver a worthwhile experience, so it’d be refreshing for EA to tackle a different franchise for once.

Burnout would be the perfect candidate for such a revival, proving to be a solid favourite amongst racing fans in the past. Just imagine the chaotic destruction Burnout could bring to PS4 and Xbox One, complemented by exciting new modes and features never before seen in the series. Not only would this be a lovely surprise, it’d also be a great new start for Burnout.
A new IP from EA would be excellent to see now we are roughly three years into the current console generation. Bioware and the new studio headed by Assassin’s Creed’s Jade Raymond are widely known to be working on new titles, so a sneak of peek of either of these at E3 would be awesome to see. Considering all the Star Wars hysteria, a reboot of Knights of the Old Republic is a distant possibility too.
